About Us
An independent platform for rigorous analysis of Somalia and the Horn of Africa
Somalia Review publishes research, commentary and long-form journalism for policymakers, institutions, scholars and citizens.
Somalia Review was founded on a straightforward premise: decisions about Somalia are too consequential to rest on thin evidence. The country is widely reported and rarely explained. Our work closes that distance.
We publish policy briefs, research papers, strategic assessments and editorial analysis. Every piece is reviewed for evidentiary strength, sourcing and clarity before publication. Where the record is contested, we say so.
Our contributors include Somali researchers, regional specialists, former officials and international scholars. Independence is structural: we accept no funding that conditions editorial judgment, and we disclose institutional support.
What we do
Research programmes convene expertise around long-running questions. Publications translate that work into instruments policymakers can use. Analysis and multimedia bring it to a wider readership across the Horn and beyond.
